Our Team

 Ingrid Mezquita, Executive Director                                                                                ingrid.mezquita@first5sf.org

Becoming First 5’s Executive Director this past July has provided Ingrid the ideal platform to lead a county department to focus on advocacy, equity, and systems change. Ingrid’s background includes more than two decades of experience leading early childhood systems of care and education for children and families. Prior to First 5, Ingrid worked in the nonprofit sector where she passionately advocated for improved public policy for vulnerable children and their families. This foundational experience provided Ingrid with a core understanding on how to target those factors that support system change and racial equity.

First 5 under Ingrid’s leadership is positioned to advance its mission for greater impact in San Francisco’s early childhood system. As a native of San Francisco, and growing up as a child of Salvadoran immigrants in the Mission community, Ingrid has zeal and passion for equity. Her background provides a rich experience to draw upon, including leading San Francisco’s pioneering Preschool for All initiative as the Senior Program Officer at First 5. Ingrid holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
