Improved Systems of Care

We are constantly working to help child-devoted organizations create more accessible, effective programs. We partner with parents, other city agencies and foundations to recommend improvements in public systems of care for young children.

Some of our recent successes:
Our Civic Engagement Committee of parents recently offered recommendations (pdf file) to the Children and Families Commission on strengthening our connection to families who need our services.

Community meetings (pdf file) throughout our city have inspired us to expand our culturally appropriate parent education workshops, facilitate parent-to-parent support and help engage families in civic leadership and the everyday joy of raising their children.

We've developed a detailed plan (pdf fle) for bringing Preschool for All to more neighborhoods, measuring the quality of our programs and partnering effectively with childcare providers.

We've also commissioned San Francisco's first study (pdf file) of systems of care for children with special needs, which has led to the creation of our High Risk Infant Interagency Council.

Our Family Support Initiative responds to a Family Support Landscape study (pdf file), co-produced with the Starting Points Initiative, which has identified current gaps in resources. Every day we bridge more of those gaps to better serve the families of our city.
