Drop-In Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 am – 4 pm and by appointment

APA strengthens families with a spectrum of services to prevent and treat problems that may occur as a result of stress, barriers and challenges of language, finances, and lack of resources. APA’s focus is prevention and case management services for families facing the challenge of being new immigrants and/or survivors of domestic violence and child abuse. We provide culturally competent services through education, community building, and leadership development.

Community Connections Workshops and classes We provide bilingual workshops on topics of education, literacy, self-sufficiency, child/youth development, acculturation, health and wellness, perinatal and early infancy parenting and family economic success. We will have parent and community experts to present or co-facilitate discussion. Drop-in, by registration
Community Connections Parent leadership and volunteer opportunities We host culturally themed family events for clients, for families to socialize and learn how to support their children’s development and learn about community resources. Drop-in, by registration
Community Connections Information and referrals Family advocates provide information and referrals for child care, domestic violence prevention and education, medical/dental care, housing, job opportunities, and more in the family’s home language. Parenting Advice and Skill Building Infants and babies playgroup We provide weekly activities that promote sensory development and parent-child bonding. Drop-in, by registration
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Toddlers/preschoolers playgroup We provide weekly activities that promote sensory development and parent-child bonding. Drop-in, by registration
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Parent education We provide APIPES and Triple P Parenting Classes. By appointment, by registration
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Support groups We provide fathers engagement group, mothers support group, and yoga classes. Drop-in, by appointment
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Developmental screening ASQ-3 (English/Chinese) can be conducted and developmental assessment screening are modeled for parents. By appointment
Formal Supports Family advocacy/case management Staff helps remove barriers that prevent families from linking to or accessing available services. Families’ needs such as family functioning/relationships, parenting, health, mental health, intergenerational communication problems, gang activity, and truancy are all addressed. (Chinese, Vietnamese, and English) By appointment
Formal Supports Differential response and/or enhanced visitation Services for families referred by the San Francisco Human Services Agency. By referral
Other Leveraged Services Counseling services and family economic success services Services include ESL and computer classes. By appointment, by registration
