Drop-In Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 – 12 pm and 1 – 7 pm, Friday, 9 – 12 pm

The OMI Family Resource Center is a program under the Urban Services Branch of the YMCA SF. We focus our services to serve families with children ages 0-5 years old. All our services are free of charge.

Community Connections Workshops and classes Topics vary and based on parents’ interest, but include oral health, community preparedness, and early literacy. Drop-in
Community Connections Family and community events We offer community events throughout the year so families can attend with their children, build community, and enjoy each other’s company. We also celebrate cultural sharing and celebrations. Some of our events include: monthly Family Dinner and a Movie events, Toy Giveaway, Kwanzaa, Lunar New Year, Egg Hunt, Turkey Giveaway, and Backpack Giveaway.  Drop-in, by registration
Community Connections Parent leadership and volunteer opportunities Parents develop community and leadership skills through helping to plan and implement activities with other parents. By application
Community Connections Information and referrals Families are connected to a wide range of internal and external resources and services. Areas of support include food assistance, shelter and housing assistance, child care, and employment services. Drop-in
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Infants and babies playgroup We offer a weekly Parent and Child Interactive group during which our librarian and staff facilitate story reading, singing, play, and movement. Parents attend with their child to have fun, learn about child development, how to support health development, and how to develop healthy relationships. Drop-in
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Toddlers/preschoolers playgroup We offer a weekly Parent and Child Interactive group during which our librarian and staff facilitate story reading, singing, play, and movement. Parents attend with their child to have fun, learn about child development, how to support health development, and how to develop healthy relationships. Drop-in
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Parent education – for parents of infants/toddlers, school age kids, and teens Triple P parenting class is appropriate for parents who have a child ages 2-12 years old and want to learn positive parenting strategies. (Chinese, Spanish, English)  By registration
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Support groups We offer weekly support groups for men, Spanish-speaking women, grandparents, and a Tea Talk for Chinese-speaking Grandparents. We discuss current events, community issues, and issues relevant to our participants. A light, healthy meal is provided. By registration
Parenting Advice and Skill Building Developmental screening Receive consultation from our Child Development Specialist and/or Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant with ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaire) for parents of children aged 0-3 to better understand your child’s developmental milestones and ways you can help support your children or address any concerns. By appointment
Formal Supports Family advocacy/case management Families receive focused guidance and coaching to achieve goals related to parenting, family relationships, obtaining benefits/supports, employment, and health. By appointment
Other Leveraged Services Community supports  Preschool services, counseling, legal aid, clinical case management  By registration
