The City and County’s San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education (OECE) is seeking qualified candidates for a 1246 Principal Human Resources and Racial Equity Analyst Position. Together with First 5 San Francisco, we aim to improve education, health, and well-being outcomes for young children and their families by employing a racial equity lens to combat racism and expand opportunity. The Principal Human Resources and Racial Equity Analyst will hold a key management role as OECE and First 5 SF work together to merge into a single Department of Early Childhood. This position will lead efforts to advance racial equity in our new department’s internal policies and procedures and will also perform high-level technical human resources work in the areas of recruitment, examinations, classification, compensation, employee and labor relations, and human resources operations.

We are specifically seeking candidates with diverse perspectives, knowledge, experience, and skills aligned to racial equity and justice. We value those with lived experiences performing work relevant to the position descriptions and do not require candidates to possess a degree in order to apply (see substitution information in minimum qualifications for more details). Due to the technical HR expertise required for this position, we do prefer candidates with experience in government Human Resources work, and would be especially excited about candidates with knowledge of City and County of San Francisco HR policy.
