San Francisco, CA— On May 10, 2019, Dozens of local children and families came together with Mayor London Breed and community leaders from across the city to celebrate the grand opening of the new, permanent home of Portola & Excelsior Family Connections, one of the city’s longest serving Family Resource Centers.
“This building belongs to you…Today is a day of celebration because we know we are so fortunate to have Family Connections here,” said Mayor Breed.
The event featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, a guided tour of the state-of-the-art facility, and local representatives, including Mayor London Breed, District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai, representatives from Portola & Excelsior Family Connections, and partners from the citywide FRC network of programs.
Portola & Excelsior Family Connections provides resources for infants to elders through its six core divisions: family support, early childhood education, school-age education, health & wellness, literacy and community connections.
The celebration marked a new and exciting opportunity for services and resources to be accessed in the southwestern corridor of the City. The new Portola & Excelsior Family Connections facility is open to everyone. Excelsior Family Connections is located at 5016 Mission Street San Francisco, CA 94112.
