Child Development

In 2012, First 5 San Francisco commissioned Applied Survey Research to conduct an outcome evaluation of the Preschool for All (PFA) program. The evaluation was designed to assess the impact of PFA on improving preschool program quality and children’s school readiness. The evaluation found that PFA programs demonstrated high levels of quality with regard to teacher-child interactions. The evaluation also found that PFA significantly improved children’s early literacy, early math, and self-regulation skills, compared to children who had not participated in the program.
