El Centro Bayview is a partnership of three agencies from the Mission District providing family services to the Bayview Latino population: Mission Neighborhood Centers, Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, and Mission Economic Development Agency.

The program’s mission is to develop prevention, early intervention, and intensive services that support families living in the Bayview. Services include case management, support groups, playgroups, family events, community events and one time parent workshops.

Our partnership commits to providing culturally competent services to Bayview families with an emphasis on maintaining families integrity, health, and safety..

Workshops and classes

Workshops on issues important to Bayview and Latino parents.  Topics are based on parent requests, including nutrition, health, family economic success, housing-clinics, and youth development.

Parenting Advice and Skill Building

Infants and babies playgroup

Parents are invited to join other families with babies at Exploremos Juntos, which includes developmentally appropriate fun, music and discussion. Parents can learn about infant development, meet other families and enjoy time with their babies.

Parents are invited to join other families with preschool-aged children at the Laugh & Learn, playgroup which includes developmentally appropriate fun, music, and discussion.

Parent education at El Centro Bayview includes:

  • Nurturing Fathers Program – A father/male evidence-based parenting curriculum  for parents with Children 0-17 years old
  • Crianza Con Carino – A Spanish-based curriculum for parents with children ages 0-5 years old

Developmental screening

Receive consultation from our Child Development Specialist and/or Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant with ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaire, ages 1 month- 5.5 yrs. old) to better understand your child’s developmental milestones and ways you can help support your children or address any concerns.

Family advocacy/case management

Families receive focused guidance and coaching to achieve goals related to parenting, family relationships, obtaining benefits/supports, employment, and health.

Other Leveraged Services

Transition Housing Program Plus (THP+)

Housing support and independent living skills (ILS) for young adults (age 21-25) who have exited the foster care system.
