Drop-In Hours: Monday and Wednesday 9 am – 6:30 pm, Tuesday 2:30 pm – 5 pm, Thursday 10 am  – 7 pm, Friday 9 am – 5 pm

Potrero Hill Family Resource Center is a program with Urban Services YMCA, the services that are focused on is serving families with children ages from 0-5 years of age.

We offer monthly family community events throughout the year to celebrate cultural sharing, community building and family fun. Events include family movie nights, Easter Celebration, Family Day in the Park, Halloween, Kwanzaa, and Turkey Giveaway.

Parent leadership and volunteer opportunities

Parents are encouraged to participate in programs to support their leadership development and opportunities to volunteer in the community. Weekly Food Pantry and volunteers for events are especially welcomed.

Parenting Advice and Skill Building

Infants and babies playgroup

The infant playgroup allows parents and their babies to play together with other families. The engaging activities will promote healthy bonding and build parenting skills and knowledge.

Toddlers/preschoolers playgroup

The playgroup offers fun activities for parents and their toddlers and preschoolers. Activities allow families to meet each other and enjoy activities that support child development, pre-literacy skills, school readiness and social-emotional development.

Triple P Positive Parenting will facilitate a 13-week course for parents with children between the ages of 2-12 years old.

Potrero Hill Family Resource Center offers weekly support groups which provide opportunities to be connected with others and share healthy conversations around various topics related to the specific groups: 

  • Latina Women’s Group
  • Grandparents’ Group
  • Soul of a Woman

We offer Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) (for families with children 3 and under). Results are discussed with the parent to identify areas of strength and areas of need.

Families receive focused guidance and coaching to achieve goals related to parenting, family relationships, obtaining benefits/supports, employment, and health.
